since january when she was only 2 and a half, grace has been planning her 3rd birthday pony party. each night she would plan the details-- who was coming, the kind of hats she wanted, chocolate cake versus strawberry, whether she wanted a princess cake, dora, or pony (she decided this week on a my little pony cake). she had built up the day in her mind for 1/6th of her life...that is a long period in "kid time." all day yesterday, i would call to her and she would answer "i am ready for my party. let's go!" when we finally arrived at her 3rd birthday party at the stables, she was jumping for joy---literally! she was surrounded by all her favorite friends and was smiling the entire time. she loved riding the horses, holding the chickens, painting "doc", and most importantly eating her long-awaited chocolate cake! i don't think she has ever been so dirty and so happy!
