new read!

i read this one a few books back and i have yet to read something i have enjoyed as much.

tonight i begin my next new read recommended by my mom "the secret life of bees" by sue monk kidd. set in south carolina in 1964, it is a story of "lily owens whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed. when lily's fierce-hearted black "stand-in mother" rosaleen insults 3 of the deepest racists in town, lily decided to spring them free. they escape to a town that holds the secret to her mother's past. taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters, lily is introduced to their mesmerizing world of bees and honey. a novel about divine female power, a story that women will share and pass on to their daughters for years to come." i guess it is suiting my mom passed it along to me then!
next on my list is this one however i am hesitant to read it and feel sad since prof. pausch passed away last month. however i think he is inspiring and i am sure his words are heartfelt. for now i will keep that one on the bookshelf.
